Week120 - 26Jan 2004

This week..

NHBC Visit

The NHBC Inspection went well. The 1st task as a result of the visit was to box in the waste pipes in the Utility Room. All internal waste pipes must be boxed in primarily to avoid unwanted "noise" when they are in use.

I was not intending to box the ones in the basement where noise does not matter but apart from noise they also represent a fire risk as well.
They are made of plastic so a fire in the basement could easily spread to the floor above.
I therefore had to box them in with a fire proof material - I used Masterboard.
This was a very difficult task in the corners behind the fittings/Heat Pump! Plan ahead!

Also this week Winter arrives!

BT's Home Highway ISDN Update

You will recall the on-going major dispute with BT (seeWeek 111 and all weeks since). It has been unusable since May.

No response this week.

To be continued.....

From the Archives....

So we don't forget what we have achieved here is a quick look at what we were doing one and two years ago.

Two years ago ( Week 16 ) this view (from what is now the kitchen) shows the top of the basement with the ladder leading down what is now the stairs.
One year ago, (Week 68 ) this view taken from the same position as the on the left - shows the kitchen fitting beginning!
