As I mentioned in Week 134 I had a meeting with East Cambs Planning Dept about the possibility of converting my workshop above the garage into living accommodation. My original planning application stated that this room was not to be used for accommodation because of "off-road parking considerations" without the written permission of the authority. I assumed this meant planning approval but it transpires all I needed was written permission i.e. a letter. I have now received this and have therefore set about converting it to a 1 bedroom flat with en-suite and a lounge.
