Week126 - 8Mar 2004

This week..

Flat Conversion

This week I return to the flat, fitting extractor fans, lights and electrical sockets.

First I fit a combined light and extractor fan in the shower.

The light..
the extractor is fitted above the ceiling
and finally vents into the garage.
I then fit several wall sockets...
the electric shower cable & switch...
and a wall heater.

BT's Home Highway ISDN Update

You will recall the on-going major dispute with BT (see Week 111 and all weeks since). It has been unusable since May.

Two things this week. First the wall socket for the unit failed making my main phone line inoperative for 2 days until it was replaced and secondly I have had another visit from a BT technical expert. He is trying to resolve the conflict with one of my devices which has made my Home Highway inoperative for almost a year! He believe he may have identified the conflicting device as a Belkin USB device which I use to create a virtual Network between my Laptop and Desktop. We are trying a duplex cable between the computers instead utilising the Ethernet ports so that the USB port can be released for the BT software. I will let you know what happens!

From the Archives....
