Week86 - 2Jun 2003

This week we concentrate on the Main Bedroom En-Suite

First I tile the shower.
Before tiling I remove the emulsion to allow adhesion, then coat the walls with UPVC.
We then use Epoxy adhesive and grout.
They are both expensive options but should never leak.
The grout is particularly difficult to work with.
Nice finish though

Next the floor
This is my 4th floor using these tiles
Just one more after this one
so it is very straightforward

Next something new. Bev wants the bottom half of the walls in the en-suite clad with tongue & groove and then colour washed.
A very straightforward process (from the carpenter's perspective - ie me!) apart from the time consuming part of boxing around waste pipes, plug sockets etc.
You must also make provision for any other items that will need to be fixed to the wall, (such as cisterns or towel rails) afterwards by attaching battens behind the cladding at the appropriate place.
